The official matchday programme for the Reds’ opening fixture of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League features a striking cover.
This season, LFC is collaborating with local artists to produce bespoke, highly-collectible, matchday programme covers for UEFA Champions League home games. Each cover will feature unique artwork created specifically for the individual fixtures to celebrate both our amazing football club and our city’s rich creative culture.
The first has been created by the talented Abigail Rudkin, a full-time artist and content creator who many of you will already know from social media.
Inside the packed programme, we hear from a man aiming to win the Champions League for a third successive season, Bradley Barcola. The former Paris Saint-Germain player explains his long-term goals with the club and why previous visits to Anfield helped lure him to the Reds.
Alongside his regular captain’s notes, skipper Virgil van Dijk reflects on the evolution of his game and embracing the demands of leadership in a revealing interview.
Elsewhere, we have the pre-match insights of head coach Andoni Iraola as he takes charge of a team in a Champions League fixture for the first time, while ex-Liverpool centre-back Gary Gillespie analyses the Reds’ Champions League rivals ahead of the Matchday 1 clash with regular rivals Atlético Madrid.
